IPod/IPhone/IPad dock

I'm looking to get a docking station for Ipod/Iphone/Ipad as a (surprise) gift for someone.

I have seen one, in tesco, but it's £229.97!!

While I don't really mind paying this much, I want to know that what I am getting is good, will last, and is worth what I'm paying for it.

The gift is for a really gadget lover - and I'm clueless! (I own no apple products!)

The one I have seen is: Philips Fidelio DS8550, and on tesco has not yet been reviewed, so no clues there!

Is this one I should consider? Are there any recommendations for others to look at?

You could probably find ipod/ iphone dock at cheaper price. Is he/ she has ipad?

BTW, if you don't want to spend that much. You could search for ipod/ iphone dock speaker with bluetooth. If sound is needed from ipad, just use bluetooth.

Just to add, remember the newer ipod and iphones will require a different sort of port (which exists on the dock) to connect the ipod due to apple changing this- all previous ipods and iphones (and ipads and so on) will still use the same type of connection cable.

You can though get a connection cable changer thing to make old docks work for the new ipods but they cost around £25 which is a bit of an expensive bit of kit for what it does so make sure you buy the correct sort of dock before buying your prefered apple item.
