They're back!!!

I posted as a Grabbit instead of on the Food board as, if last year is anything to go by, these have such huge demand and sell out very quickly!

I've always fancied trying them but missed them in store and wouldn't buy from ebay for silly money so I picked some up this morning :)

May seem like a silly question but do you have an idea what sort of date range there are on these things? I'm not a mince pie or Christmas pudding fan although my hubby is and I'd love to start stocking up now (and hiding them) ?!

Shhhh!! I wanted to get my pudding before the Ebayers spotted the deal. Serves 10 so should do Mr Shoe the big porker.

I bought one of these puddings around this time last year and it had a use by date of late March. After all the hype, we were quite disappointed when we ate it - there was just too much orange in the middle. We also tried the little hidden clementine pudding, which was much nicer. I loved the mince pies, but I think they only had a fairly short shelf life.
  • It is £40 min spend on Ocado
    Oh no, not you again!:money:
  • My husband is a big mince pies fan but he tried the Heston ones last year and was disappointed by them. Can recommend Aldi luxury ones though

    15 on there already.

I would never consider buying food like this from ebay.

Some of the reviews said the same about toilet cleaner. As the pine sugar apparently comes separately I'll try one with just a tiny bit sprinkled on, out of curiosity, and if I don't like it I'll just eat the rest without it. The mincemeat has lemon curd, rose water and apple puree added which sounds interesting enough on its own.

    Very good question :)

Just checked the items I bought today....
    Small pudding - 23 April 2013
    Large pudding - 17 Feb 2014
Puff pastry mince pies - 02-11-12!!!

I was in a rush (and so excited!) I didn't think to check the dates. Oh well, I'll just have to eat the mince pies early then! I just grabbed the first box so some may have had better dates but it does look like the puddings that are much more sought after. I bought mine this morning but had to pop back this evening for something else and noticed that they'd sold a LOT of big puddings today alone.

Sorry! I wanted to spread the word so people who were genuinely interested in them wouldn't have to resort to buying from ebay, if you know what I mean :o
