Hi
I have used biological washing powder before and this has gotten rid of many a burn mark in my poor old pans..
I'm not sure of quantities, I usually stick a handful in, put in boiling water to cover the mark and then leave it to soak as long as possible.
I have boiled it up on the stove as well if it's been a really stubborn stain - you could always stick some dishcloths in to make it worthwhile
Hope this helps,
Lucy0 -
thanks so just washing powder - do I needs to scrub it or just soak the pot?

I used soda crystals last time I burnt a pan. Just boil a few table spoons worth until it shifts, I also left it to soak over night.
Just don't use it on aluminium pans.Know the difference between what you WANT and what you NEED. :T0 -
Same as Lucyeff for me. I sprinkle in washing powder and leave it on a very low heat for a while. Rinse out the pan.... burnt bits gone!:dance:Sometimes I sing and dance around the house in my underwear. Doesn't make me Madonna. Never will. :dance:0

I leave it there as "seasoning"...
Well - that's if it's a stain rather than crusty bits. Yup, I can stain stainless steel!
Previous attempts have included further boiling, with/without salt, vinegar, soda, etc etc; soaking with washing up liquid; scrubbing with a salt or bicarb of soda paste, none of which really worked.0 -
I once read about leaving the pan upside down on the grass overnight and then the burnt bits would wash off easily. Have never tried it myself so can't vouch for it!0

I usually put half a dishwasher tablet in with enough water to cover burnt area, boil and let simmer for 15 minutes (don't try this for aluminum pans)."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

Another vote for soaking in solution of bio washing powder. I had a big casserole dish which I had to do this for last week, I ended up leaving it for a couple of days just to make sure !
Hope you find something that works
