Barclaycard / Mercers Offer - Full and Final
frazier
I didnt pay the min £5 for 4 months to BC so they passed it recently to Mercers. I was paying £4 per month.
They have offered 40% [so-called] max discount off a £1,000 debt for the Barclaycard - they are writing to me with this offer. Whats the maximum they've known to have discounted?
I told them that 25% would be the most I can raise from family. They said no to this.
Thoughts/advice much appreciated - thanks.

Hello
There must be someone who's offered partial and final settlement to Barclaycard?0 -
I have but they were very hard line - in the end I had to pay 75%. They said it was because I was on a good salary and otherwise they would just wait until I had paid it all off! In the end I gave in because I am retiring in a few months and just wanted all my debts behind me.0

My BC debt went to Mercers and then they passed it back to BC before I had a chance to offer Mercers a F/F/ Mercers were nasty for a few months and sent a doorstep collector.
From what I've read about them and from my experiences, they are unlikely to accept a low offer. If you can raise the funds to go for the 40% off offer then I'd be inclined to go for it as i think that is the best you will get.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 2014

Anyone else heard of them going beyond 50%. Ideally looking for 65%.0
