Possible fraudulent loan application - Advice wanted.

I've received a confirmation letter for a loan application in the post from Yes Loans Ltd with my correct address but the name of someone I've never heard of - I've lived here for 20 years so it's not a previous occupant of the house.

With the regular horror stories of identity theft I'm concerned there might be something dodgy going on but I can't contact the company to sort it out. Their phone lines are not open until Tuesday and the email addresses they list on the letter (enquiries@yesloansuk.com) and on their website (enquiries@yesloans.tv) are each bouncing email as undeliverable.

Does anyone have any other contact details for Yes Loans or any other appropriate advice on the best course of action?

Many thanks.

First of all is there a similar address to yours nearby?
These big companies use a PO disc for addresses so it could be a simple mistake.

I would phone them next week to ask or if you don't want the expense of doing that send it back not known at this address.

The post code only covers about a dozen houses and the person named does not live at one of those. I guess you're right, the easiest thing is wait until they open on Tuesday and give them a call.

Thanks - it's just my paranoia over the potential that someone is up to no good.

I work for an insurance company and sometimes this type of stuff happens - whereby the mailing goes to the right address but on a different name. This is purely down to the campaign management tool/software that the company uses.

There is a lot of name and address matching involved before a direct marketing communication is rolled out.

Just contact the company in question and they can investigate and come back with a reason. I doubt very much that one would use your address details to make a loan application whilst you are the only person living at the property - just doesn't make sense:confused::confused:

On the other hand, they can use your details and make application at a different address.
