Hadn't considered that before!
Salary sacrifice appears to be the sort of thing which will be banned once too many people do it/abuse it.
So let's keep it between ourselves

TBH, salary sacrifice is becoming the norm, and TPTB seem to like it as it actually does get people saving for retirement.
However, if too many start using it to trigger benefits ...I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Well the irony is in my case - I already get WTC but because I now have this new job - next year my WTC would drop because I earn more, but if they use the lower figure then I'll be bringing home more, saving for a pension and getting more WTC ! It does seem too good to be true !
Any advice anyone can give on which fund I should choose or just go with the default one which is the Standard Life Lifestyle one ?0 -
17 year is long enough for you to be reasonably aggressive with your fund choice BUT you still need a good geographic and sector spread. You also need to consider what happens if circumstances force you to retire early.
Maybe start a new thread and post a list of options if it's short enough?
However, don't let fund choice delay you joining the scheme as you tend to be able to switch later anyway.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
