Nationwide September -0.4%

Funny how when the LR figures first came out, hamish's thread was called:Land Registry August +0.7%
Which kind of implies a 0.7% rise in August, although actually there was none.
So for consistency, shouldn't this one be titled "Nationwide September -1.4%?
Just saying - wouldn't want to mislead anyone would we?

Clearly this region is skewing the numbers.

Which is great news for you! Oh, wait....
Love it!
And to think this genius claims to be in the police force.
brit1234 has been looking to buy in Isleworth or Brentford for some time.
Let's have a quick look at how house prices in that area have done since the 50% down by Christmas prediction was made.

If he can't afford to buy, he can't afford to buy.
If he could afford to buy but chose not to, then that was a very foolish decision."Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship." - Benjamin Franklin0 -

Well as his straplines say, he's "on strike" from buying a house.
So that narrows it down to either (a) couldn't afford it, even when 17% cheaper, or (b) he's foolish.
I'd like a private jet. I admit I cannot afford one. But to make you believe it's because I am 'on strike' from buying one [perhaps because they aren't 'green' any more] would you believe me?0 -

You would be able to do that 'safely' but people would probably laugh in your face.
The population of the North West, North East and Yorkshire/Humberside is almost twice that of London. As a southerner I would call that the North. The only other negative figure on Land Reg is Wales.
But as already been pointed out these small figures don't mean much0 -

Brit comes on here regularly boasting about how she is sitting on a huge deposit.
Seemingly she also ploughed it into gold last September, just before the price tanked.

You need to get to grip with average you could just as easily say they would be a lot less with the north taken out.
The only thing that really matters is what they are doing where you are or where you would like to be.
Trouble is. The average hides a 4% fall in Scotland YOY.
So region by region does matter.0 -

It does include the 3% fall in Wales but if the point made was if you add Scotland in the fall would be greater I would have to agree but the point made was London is pushing them up.
I believe I have already said that the only thing that really matters is the price where are or want to be so why would I worry about prices in Scotland.0
