Well here goes.
I have finally decided to start a MFW diary after too many years lurking and some half hearted attempts. We are myself 36, DH 40, DS 16 and DD 13. We partly own, with the bank, a nice house in a nice area, so no concerns about moving any time soon. Just about to remortgage as we have every 2 years for I don't know how long. Mortgage will be 220K ish  (will post final figure when the deal is done). The new rate all being well will be 2.99 fixed for 2 years.
When we moved 6 years ago our mortgage was over 35 years, each time we have remortgaged I have cut that down, new deal will be 16 years.
We have had credit cards etc over the years for home improvements and have learnt the hard way that this is not the way to do things. Now debt free other than the mortgage.
To do list
1. [STRIKE]Join MFiT-T3 challenge.[/STRIKE]
2. Sell stuff on Ebay.
3. [STRIKE]Sell gym equipment (Aka clothes airer) locally.[/STRIKE]
4. Update spreadsheets etc.
5. [STRIKE]Workout how to post smilies[/STRIKE].:)
Will add to this as I think of things.

Sounds like a good list to get you started
To post smileys, either type the text equivalent - i.e. a smiley face is : ) (leave out the space) and the board will recognise it as a smiley, otherwise go to 'go advanced' when posting for the full list0 -
Thanks, I have now managed to post smilies and also worked out how to strikethrough my list items, which is great as I love lists.
I have registered for MFiT- T3 challenge have set a figure of 180K at the end of 3 years which works out at O/P of £145 per month rounding me up to £1600 monthly payment. Any extras I earn on top will be thrown at the mortgage and I will reassess in a few months time.
Just read this back and it sounds like its just me, OH is completely behind me on this and when I write I it will mean we, its just I'm the one who looks after the finances etc.0 -

I'm sure nobody took it like that - your OH just values free time enough not to spend it posting diaries like we MFW types0 -
I'd best not mention that i'm a spreadsheet fan then, I can be gone for hours with charts and figures etc. OMG, I could list it as a hobby.:)0

Just popped in out of curiosity and see you report you have registered for the MFiT-T3 challenge - just about to PM you with a challenger number.
Best of luck.

Haven't added much to this diary as had some slightly worrying news. Husband might be made redundant we wont know until next year. I'm not too worried as if he is there will be a nice amount of cash involved and his CV looks good for a new job. If he stays where he is the new job will pay slightly more anyway.
The mortgage is moving on slowly, the rate has dropped to 2.89% so the delay has been good for us. I've had a tax rebate of £105 and also banked some copper/silver from my jar so I will log on today and overpay that. I know its all about to change over to new account but it will be less to transfer.
I have had a room thermostat fitted to the heating system and cant believe the difference it makes, previously the heating would have been on and the kids would get hot and open windows now its just set at 18 degrees which is more than comfortable and I can look on my phone and check the temperature and adjust it from anywhere.
My amazing little car went back yesterday:( at the end of the deal haven't committed to a new one yet as if hubby gets a new job he may have a car or need a certain type etc so will hang fire for now. At the moment he cycles to work so I can have his car most days. The only problem will be when I'm on night shifts and kids have stuff on. I'm not on a bus route and its an hour walk after a 12 hour shift which is not good.
I'm off work this coming week so will concentrate on ebaying my stuff, it literally fills half of my spare room. Also the gym equipment locally.0 -
I too, was able to list "rarely used" gym equipment on ebay!Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!
2014 GOAL HIT 5 Stone! 2016 GOAL to be a MF marathon runner.

Time for an update I think.
Just completed on a new mortgage now fixed at 2.85% for 2 years. We can make over payments up to 10% each year. Still waiting on the final figures from conveyancer, but new mortgage is around 217K. We managed to make a big O/P to get a better rate. We also chopped 2 years of the term so now 16 years. When we renew in 2 years hopefully we will chop another 2 years off which along with the two years that will have passed will make it 12 years at that time.
D/H will most likely be made redundant in the next 6 months, but we are trying to be positive about a new job.
Will round up the monthly payments when we receive the actual figures, think its around £1450 ish.
I have been selling my unwanted items locally and now have no gym equipment that is unwanted. Will not O/P this amount though as only just paid the difference for completion.
Still got loads to go on Ebay as I have been unwell for weeks and not had any energy, think I will list 10 items a week or something.
Cannot cut back anymore household bills as I have been money savvy for a number of years and its all still in order.
We are still managing with one car but this will depend on D/H's potential new job as may be too far to cycle etc.
We are currently seeking compensation for a holiday club we were conned into a few years ago, so any cash received there would be paid of the mortgage as well.
Whatever is left in the account on payday we will overpay on the mortgage. Anyone know if you can view Natwest mortgages online?0 -
I can see my Natwest mortgage online, but I have an offset mortgage with a current account and savings accounts with them as well if that makes a difference.Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53
Original Mortgage Free Date April 2032
Target Mortgage Free Date July 2022/Currently August 2029 (based on no offset)
Total overpayments from 20/04/12: £8152.950
