Nigellissima (BBC2 & book)

I can't find a thread for this - bit surprised nobody else seems to be watching!

I'm really enjoying Nigella's latest series on BBC2. Definitely more so than Kitchen, she seems to have toned it down a bit, and the food is really my sort of thing. Of course I went straight out and bought the book :o it's very nice, but then her books always are.

I'm very jealous of her kitchen - I believe the kitchen in the BBC2 set is an exact replica of Nigella's kitchen at home. I can only dream of having such a lovely big beautiful kitchen :D

Anyone else watching/reading?

I've asked for the book for Christmas. Love a bit of Nigella, although not sure she will ever top Domestic Goddess or Feast for me.
  • I've just enjoyed watching this. Her recipes seem very simple and she hasn't changed - lemons, Marsala etc. I'm not sure I shall buy the book, though, until it's on special offer.

I got it in Tesco, I think it was £8.99.

I thought she was much much more natural and likeable this time - she was in danger of becoming a parody of herself. The smoked mackerel recipe has gone on my menu plan as I have some stashed in freezer.

Feast and How to Eat are absolutely fantastic books and I will probably buy this to complete the collection!

Oh, now you've all spoilt it for me! :rotfl:

Have it on series link so will watch when have time to pause & re-watch! I already have the book on my Christmas list :)

I agree that she's much more watchable this series - she was on the One Show earlier and admitted to having around 5,000 cook-books

I love Nigella, and this series is so watchable, plus the recipes are great. I am collecting Nigella's books but second hand wherever I can. I love Nigella's chocolate brownies, they are a firm favourite in our house, I make them every couple of weeks. Though the pasta with courgette looked scrumy, never sure what to do with courgettes.

We have the regularly used ones in the dining room, the less-used ones in the spare room and a few in the kitchen from the weekend. I reckon we have around 80...and rising as I keep sneaking the odd one in every now & then while DH is away :):p

When I moved into DH's, I moved from 50 miles away and took a lot of mine to the local hospice shop. I have replaced quite a few from local charity shops ;)

I have about 250 cookbooks I think - a mere amateur compared to Nigella! Caught up with the programme tonight, but can't help wishing they'd change the format a bit, am a bit fed up with seeing her friends (or not) and family at fabulous dinner parties. My DD has made me promise to make the cheesecake when she saw how much nutella was going in to it.
