It is always a shame that posters such as Conrad are rarely honest - we can assured he'll be back at some point telling us that the lender wrote off the debt along with a substantial sum in compensation and we'll be expected to believe him.0

Why don't you just do a search on the things I mentioned above and you will find out if what I say about them is true. In fact, all you have to do is follow cos' excellent link (http://legal-dictionary.thefreedicti...on+of+contract). Under the first heading, 'By Agreement', read the two paragraphs (or get a grown up to read them for you) under the heading 'Assent'.
Next, read the entire CCA74 to find that it does not cover contract breach by the creditor (thus leaving it to common law), and then all you have to do is decide if United Kingdom common law on contracts is:
1 Applicable in the, er, United Kingdom;
2 In fact, law;
3 Not just some cunning document falsely put together by naughty Conrad's great, great, great grandfather and implemented in parliament just so he can pretend he's right;
4 Another fiction invented by those silly liars at the round earth society - I bet they just sail round and round for a few month, and buy a bag of potatoes as evidence.
You can say I'm lying about my circumstances if you like (I mean, I don't mind you saying it, but you'd be wrong), but as Judge Joe Dredd often said, "the law is the law".
And because I am feeling particularly vindictive, Father Christmas isn't real.0 -
No no, Father Christmas is real. He must be; he's the man who invented rescission and put it into UK common law!!0

But really, that is good advice. There is a lot of loophole manipulation discussed on there, but otherwise it is a much more useful tool for consumers who find themselves in trouble.0 -
Keep us updated on how you get on Conrad.0
