Every day I log onto my internet banking and pay something extra...I usually bring my account down to a round £10 so if I had £346.92 I would pay £6.92 so my account looks nice and rounded (:rotfl:). Doing this everyday so far has resulted in me paying off an extra £547 so far this year.
I'm doing exactly the same! :money: If someone looks at my statement they're going to think I'm a lunatic
You sound very focused! Good luck!CC1 - [STRIKE]£8746[/STRIKE] £2801 71%

Don't stretch yourself by paying off in one go, especially with the dentist bill and just before christmas.
It's only costing you £2.67 a month for the convenience of paying by monthly DD which you won't even notice!

Hi Digging, just swung bye and read your latest posts. you are doing well, youre covering every debt and thats good to recognise, but i think your over thinking, its can become a obsession thinking of how or what will be needed to pay next, I too started a food challenge for myself and my hubby, by cutting to lower branded foods on some things, also buying veg etc in season can be cheaper than buying some veg just because you like them more, little changes will make a difference, i noticed the little changes add up well and make the difference to the way we think and shop. my own challenge was to see how much extra cash i could make in a 10 week time span. im about half way through now, i looked around each room in the house and first got the big items, furniture etc and got them on gumtree, priced for a bargin and they sell quick, straight into my pot! then i started on the wardrobes, items that hang there and i havent worn....made that effort and sold them on ebay.... items for cash sound easy but thats why, the returns wont be as good as ebay, for that extra effort you can count every penny... try and make a goal then when you get your 10 week challenge over with, its a good size of money to pay off one of those debts thats been giving you the head ache. good luck and i hope you'l keep in touch. much love pantherchick xWell I haven't had a chance to take the clothes to the cash 4 clothes shop as I've had to take my car into the garage. It's only a little job but going to cost me £24. £24 that I don't have... So adding onto my debt figure. Will take the clothes next Saturday... Will give me more time to sort out my towels to take too.
We had the dentist last week too and both of us need fillings etc so need £180 for the both of us in November too:eek:
My car insurance is due 1st nov. I've been on comparison sites and cheapest is £225 annually or total of £257 monthly. I usually pay yearly but was debating whether I should go with monthly this time. It costs £32 more doing it that way. My cheapest credit card is 17.9% for purchases. If I paid on that and waited a year before paying it off it would cost £40 interest... So monthly works out cheaper for me surely? Having said that, I wouldn't wait the full year. Before paying off. I used the payment calculator and if I paid £22 off each month, it would only cost £19 in interest... Obviously if I paid extra bits it would be less. Hmmmm. Thanks for listening. I'm paying yearly on credit card. Sometimes just 'talking' ('typing') it through helps me make a decision. Cheers everyone for listening to my rambling thoughts!

Hi Digging *delurking*
quick rule of thumb re seasonal fruit and veg - warmer months leafy veg - i.e. grow on surface, and soft fruits.Colder months root veg - i.e. grow underground - and fruits that store eg English apples. Its not an exact science of course and there are exceptions! Weather effects supply too.I only buy citrus fruits from November to end of Feb because I believe they are at their best then. I also watch food miles and try to buy local/from UK as much as I can. Of course citrus and more exotic fruit I try to buy grown closest to UK.Befriend anyone at work who has a glut of fruit and veg - cooking apples very popular at moment and buy knocked down stuff to make soup/pies/crumbles etc for freezer!! Its easy when you get into it.
I agree with Panther.........if you over think it all sometimes you cant see the wood for the trees:) is there anything you can 'give up' even for a few months to generate some extra cash - Sky subs maybe??
Good idea re Ebay - cash 4 clothes OK for stuff you wouldnt even give to charity shop IMO
and remeber if you take 1 item of M&S clothing to Oxf*m you will get a £5 voucher against a £35 spend in M&S on clothes and homeware - I use to buy stocking fillers of socks knickers etc for DDs
Voucher only valid in month its issued though
Keep going I will continue to read with interest

Don't forget to register your Nectar card on Ebay. If you buy something you get points.0

I kept mine and it earns me 100 points a month - just do several random searches on it when you have a minute. I don't find it that slow although I suppose compared to Google it's less efficient.
Will have to get listing on Ebay soon....this thread has inspired me (if the last bank statement didn't
