Credit Report Query?

Hi peeps,

I have just downloaded my credit report. There are some entries on it that I don't understand. Hope someone can give me advise as to what to do about them.

SEARCHES under Alias

2 searches by MBNA on 13/10/2003 under my maiden name but with Mrs in front. I did apply for a credit card but in my real married name....honest

Aoount Information

Shop Direct Financial Services - showing defaults on payments?
I have never heard of this Company and have no recollection of any dealings with them. It shows it was settled on 09/12/2003

Candid Collections Ltd searched on 03/04/2007 for mail order
Deanhouse Financial Services Ltd searched on 18/08/2006 for Personal loan
Black Horse Ltd searched on 11/08/2006 for Personal loan
Alliance & Leicester searched on 10/08/2006 for Personal loan
Express Gifts searched on 30/03/2007 Unrecorded Enquiry

I have no recollection of applying for anything from any of these Companies.

I also have an entry from HSBC on a defaulted current account which is showing as satisfied, showing a BIG red 8 in the Status History even though it was settled in 2005.:eek:

Can anyone give me some information on what to do because my credit score is absolutely awful even though everything is up to date and all payments are being made on time and have been for the past two years.

Not sure what company you used but Experian also includes contact details for all the companies you have accounts with. If I was you, I would make direct contact with the companies yourself and query the entries. You can also put a notice of correction on your report alongside the entries should you want to clarify on any points.This you do by making contact with Experian (or whichever company used).

Do you enter competitions for financial institutions where they ask you to send in your name, address and DOB for a chance to win cash? I used to until I found out that they use your details to do a credit search to see if its worth making you a loan offer!!! They really messed up my credit report.
