in England
As from last week the cost of a prescription is £4.00 in Wales. So I'm sure if you live near the English/Welsh border, and have to pay for prescriptions, you could pick it up from a surgery in England, and pay in chemist in Wales!

    Not very moneysaving if you have to cross the Severn Bridge specially to do this ... but a good tip nonetheless for those of you further north up the Bristol Channel!

    Hubby works in Newport, he got a prescription there yesterday. But, he was told that later this year they'll be free and he won't be able to get them then. We live on the wrong side of the river :D

    Aye, this works for the 18-25 year olds too.. I'm from England but my family doctor is over the border in wales (about quarter of a mile from my home) so I can go home from uni if I need a prescription and get the prescription and collect it for free in wales.. where as unless I was eligible for the HC-1 I would have to pay in England..
