  • I think its great, very quick.
I particularly like a chardonnay/viognier mix and also straight viognier. What about the bubblies - both the genuine article and the Prosecco, Oz equivalents - likely?
By setting your max price, it does exactly what you (I) want.
Keep up the good work - I've bookmarked the page!

Not sure this is really going to work so well as wine is not so commoditised as eg books or Heinz beans - French chardonnay for example covers such a huge range of wines that you may as well do a supermarket search for "sausages".

You really need more search terms - vintage, region (esp for France), etc. You don't include fortified wines.

And yes a maximum price - but how about a minimum price too?

And grape variety is not necessarily the be-all and end-all. Sauvignon blanc from Bordeaux is nothing like that from the Loire - so maybe think about actually getting someone who has half a clue about wine to look at it. Unless of course your intention is to simply be a means of finding the cheapest chardonnay for people to throw down their necks. Yes there are good inexpensive wines at the £4-5 level - but there's a lot more rubbish and value is not the same as price when it's such a differentiated product.

Would it be possible to search by age, so if you're looking for a somewhat aged red you could find some without weeding through all the 2011s?

If any of you are not to far from Dover or the Channel Tunnel, you could try this wine warehouse, free ferry offer.
http://www.calaiswine.co.uk/offers You have to spend a £250 on wine in their store, if four of you shared this on wine its £62.50 per person.
Some of their wine works out less than £2 per bottle as they dont pay duty on it.
Also P&0 have a day trip offer http://www.poferries.com/tourist/content/pages/template/offers_day_trip_offer_day_trip_offer.htm £24 plus 3 free bottles of wine and bogof meals on board for a car and upto 9 people.....:D

Great idea - pity it's only really Tesco though plus other more expensive sites. I'd like to see the price per bottle including postage (in addition to the base price per bottle).

Great idea but like the Local Deal Finder has already been done better elsewhere .

MSE employ staff to do this , earn your money, come up with something unique and stop copying others !

Looks a decent website. At last, Morrisons have decided to move into the 21st century.

Ordered some wine 2 weeks ago when they had 25% off. Still waiting for it. First of all they were answering my emails saying the driver couldnt find my adress but Ive had deliveries from morrisonscellar before. So they said they have sent the order out again. Again it seems to have been returned to morrisonscellar. and now they are not even answering my emails. Couldnt give me a tracking number. Cant see details of previous orders on my account, just how much was paid. Oh yeah. And money has already been deducted for this order. So seems they still have lots to learn. Never have these problems with Tesco wine by the case.

Just noticed that the regular 25% off 6 bottles discount doesn't seem to apply online on the Tesco site. Therefore the wine I bought in store on sunday (6 x 6.99 - 25%) is 25% more expensive online. Probably need to have something added up top on the deal finder so that people are aware that the online isn't always the cheapest. ;)
