Thorntons Easter Eggs - What's the point??

For the second year running Thorntons have flattered to deceive. Despite getting a weeks notice to deliver Eggs to aunts in Scotland (and not to the outer Hebrides, but Edinburgh) they have just told us that despite three days of promises they won't get there till next Tuesday.
What an absolute bunch of wasters.
Can someone explain to me why they send out literature full of promises and advertise on their own website, when clearly they are not up to the task.
If only someone else made better chocolate.
Oh and the manager was so concerned he took the day off!! Yeah pull the other one.
This year they will not get away with it.

Got to say that not all Thornton's staff are wasters. Phoned the local Thornton's in Edinburgh to try and salvage some last minute Easter eggs. Not only did they sort out the eggs, the manager paid for them herself (on understanding we would send a cheque - couldn't accept card over phone) AND she personally delivered them on her way home. Now that is excellent customer service. It's a shame the people at Thornton's Internet couldn't be as obliging.0

My online delivery failed to arrive despite my paying extra for it to be delivered on a particular date as the recipient was going away for Easter.
I rang Thorntons only to be told it was an error and it was being delivered the next day and they could not stop the delivery as it had gone out. I cancelled the order as there would be no one there till after Easter which kind of spoiled the surprise anyway and they said they would refund me and if the order was delivered then it could be kept free of charge by way of apology.
So far so good.
Except neither the order or the refund have appeared!0 -

Sounds more like egg-cellent service to me...0
