Sticking vellum to glass and where to get glass vases?

Hi, I read you can stick vellum to glass using modpog glue, I'm rather confused as 50% of crafters say its the same as pva and the other half say its not. Can I use pva for the job?

Also has anyone seen cheap vases around, just plain straight up round ones? No higher than A4 and no design? I have no home bargains and it's unlikely mum will be going to ikea before Christmas!

I was going to suggest Michael darks too if Wilkinsons etc are nogo. Excellent service.
