About pension

Can someone please tell me all about pensions and how they work?

I pay quite a lot every month into a pension (nearly £100 NHS) and from what I have read I can start getting paid that if I retire at the age of 50 every week OR I can take as a lump sum.

Now would I also get a state pension?

I do not have the foggiest.

Thanks for any help.

(I am a home owner (all in husbands name will be paid off within 15 years) and no where near retiring yet just been some reassurance)

In monetary terms, that is actually quite a small amount. Although the NHS pension low contribution level for the large benefit received is a key employee benefit.

Read the booklet again. The link above by xylophone will take you there. You are not on the right track.

Thanks for that I will have a read through.

Can I ask If I retired early or just finished and worked else where OR opted out what happens to monies paid?
