Mortgage Offer in Place - Can I easily Switch Houses

Have a mortgage offer for a house. The offer is valid until February. The process is slowing down since the people we are buying from have pulled out of their purchase and are now viewing other houses so hopefully the sale is still 'on'.
Anyway, we sometimes still look on Rightmove. Do you know if we see something we like and want to switch to a new house, would the mortgage offer have to start from scratch with the application, application fees, resubmitting salary slips etc? I realise the bank would have to do another survey but would they need to do all the other stuff?

i think it depends on the bank.
This has happened to us recently (had to pull out of a purchase due to survey). We had a full mortgage offer. We've found another place and all we've had to do is pay for the new survey/valuation (plus some solicitors fees). The bank didnt want further payslips etc as it was only 3 weeks since theyd had them all! It is a new full application though with a new credit check.0 -
