Christmas presents posted for me - help!?

I live in the Channel Islands, and give Christmas pressies to some relatives in England. I normally buy a box of chocolates then queue for ages at the post office, only to spend more on postage than I did on the chocolates. But I don't want to give gift vouchers which is the obvious answer!

Do other people use any really good websites (for chocolates or other good Christmas gifts) which will post to a different address than the billing address? I would like to spend up to £15 including postage per gift and its for families with youngish kids.

Last year I couldn't find anyone suitable who did this (just flower shops and very expensive boutique chocolate sites), this year it looks like Thorntons do :j but I wanted to check I wasn't missing some great website?

Not sure if this helps at all but I have regularly used amazon.co.uk and amazon.com to send gifts, many times to my grandchildren in Texas.

I second this recommendation. I've used both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk for "direct delivery" gifts, both domestic and overseas.
  • I was also going to say amazon.
House of Fraser doesn't put the price of items on its delivery notes so thats also an option and I think M&S do delivery for gifts too.

John Lewis will send direct as well.
  • And one of the benefits of amazon is you can get it gift wrapped also

Amazon cares of its reputation. So even if you buy something from their associates through amazon, it would be treated the same way as amazon’s own staff. And now you could find almost everything there. The beauty is that you could use local amazon from the country your relatives live. On the other hands it’s a little bit more expensive. Last time i was doing that way. I needed some dancing gear. I looked through amazon for shops that traded there and had good reputation then I went directly to their sites, checked the price and bought directly.
It’s a little bit not fare for amazon but the problem is if you buy from associates you pay delivery charges. If you need several different items from different associates, you pay these charges for all of them. At least that how I understood that. So I had to find one shop which had all the items I wanted and pay for delivery only once.
  • Lakeland will deliver to a different address too and have a range of gifts including chocolates. I think you can ask for a gift receipt with no prices added.

if you are looking for something different maybe browse some of the facebook crafty pages, there are some networking pages which run evenings of looking at peoples wares, literally thousands of small business's and most of them would deliver to an address of your liking,
    the networking pages are endless:-

    Hike those likes
    It's Christmas
    Crafty Likes
    Profiletree
    The Supermums Craft Fair

there are loads to choose from!

Hope this helps (and you dont have to have a facebook account to look).
