Haggling on mortgage fees?

Has anyone ever succeeded in haggling on thier fees?
I am looking to do a longer term fixed mortgage, with low LTV (under 40%) and a salary multiple of 3 (or 2 by joint income with Mrs. Nollag).
With a good credit history, I dont think getting the mortgage will be difficult but I wanted to know if anyone has ever succeed in pushing the bank down on thier admin / booking fees, or even got them to chuck in some cashback?
Thanks all

They don't need your business enough to cut the price.0

I dont think the banks can afford to be as arrogant now, as they once used to be.
Would be interested to hear of success stories (if any)0 -

It's a question of lack of funds to lend.
The Credit Crunch means most banks want fewer mortgages, not more. So throwing you an under the counter deal to get your business isn't needed. If you go elsewhere they really don't mind.0 -

Ive worked for 2 banks, they wont budge on fees or rates or basically anything like that.
As has been said - they have made an offer you accept it or go elsewhere. Their margins on mortgages arnt that great so its not like there is much move to manouver.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. In 20 years I have never heard of any unless it involved a refund of some charge due to an error.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). It's arrogant to think that banks are desperate for your business. Lenders are hitting lending targets without the need to offer discounts.0 -
The only haggling you can do is to pick a product with no arrangement fees but a higher rate.
Check the numbers carefully to see which one stacks up best. Best rate not necessarily the best dealI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
