mis-sold mortgages

I have been in contact with a company that says i have a strong case for compensation be cause i was mis-sold my current mortgage, they are a no win no fee company, but they want an upfront fee to start the investigation. Is there any way of doing this myself, (like reclaiming PPI).
Any information on this matter would be appreciated.

The are scams operating in this area. You can spot them because they want money up front. Its known as advance fee fraud. You get enticed by the potential of some big pay off. However, to get it you have to pay some money first. The pay off never arrives and when you go to ask for your money back you find the company has gone taking your money with it.

Yes. You complain giving your reasons for complaint. However, statistically there only a minority of mortgages are mis-sold and most of those that are actually involve consumer fraud (faking payslips, telling lies about debt levels or income etc) and the borrower ends up finding themselves blacklisted on the fraud register that lenders share info on.

Do you think you were mis-sold? If so how?
