If the bank account has no associated debit card and does not accept direct debits then no, not without some form of manual intervention.

They will, however, continue to attempt to reclaim their money from the original payment details given at the time of the transaction.
  • I would say anything is possible

    Get new unrelated bank account?

June 2012 a bank allowed my basic account to be minus'd when there just wasn't even enough funds available !! in order to pay a creditor (none pdl related) whilst an account I used to pay back pdl's had never been "raided"

Half the time I reckon the problem is all more with bank systems personally but believe there is so many letters you can write now ahead to bank to try stop things happening
  • @ the OP yes they can if they know the sort code/account number.

They dont have my basic account as i have never given these details to anyone, it was just my debit card they did this with as i must have entered my details into a form to a company who have then passed them to the PDL company as the loan i had wasnt even with the bank i am with now so i dont know if i can dispute the unauthorised transaction
