New Job - Car Fuel Benefit Query

Hi Moneysavers,
I am leaving my current job, and starting a new job which doesn't offer 'Free Private Fuel' as a benefit.
1) What saving will this be on my new tax code?
2) What is the annual cost in terms of this benefit in net terms?
3) What would the cost the employer may charge per mile for private use?
4) In terms of leaving would you advise the tax office of my change to prevent any issues with tax codes later on...
Appreciate your help - Happy Easter !!

How will your new job provide fuel for your car?
will they give you a fuel card or are you expected to put in the fuel and claim your money back?0 -
Hi Chilli Dog,
In terms of payment I will pay by my own credit card and then claim back.
I have just picked up my current paye coding and have:-
1) Car Benefit = £4,223
2) Car Fuel Benefit = £2,592
Does that mean that I am paying £216 off my gross income for fuel?
I suppose in terms of private miles I would use 400 miles per month - will I be better off.
Cheers for your help.

With not using a company fuel card and claiming it back you should get away with not fuel tax benefit. You need to keep records though.
Will you be using your own car or will they be supplying you with one?0 -
I will be getting a company car.
In terms of tax I'm a right on the monthly costings of my fuel benefit?
Cheers,

if the only change to your circumstance is the loss of the free fuel then your monthly tax will go down by
216 x 22% if you are paying tax at the standard rate
or 216 x 40% if higher rate tax payer0
