Morrison's yellow label reductions

My local Morrison's in Devon seems to have become very mean in the level of reductions recently. At 5 pm meat and fish used to be 50%, now it seems to be only 10%. Overheard a conversation between two members of staff today bemoaning a change in policy and the fact that it means people aren't buying the products. I thought they were saying that it had been sent down from a higher authority.
Has anyone else noticed this in Morrison's recently? I refuse to buy at these levels, simply not worth it.

Same in Essex.
Not worth buying at the price . Would rather payer an extra 30p and get a weeks date on it.
Never thought much of any of their reductions but they are really poor atm.
We get Birthday Cakes £7 down to £6.50 ??
Not an everyday treat price, and if I needed the cake I'd pay the £7.0 -
I've also noticed a big difference in Morries reductions and agree would rather pay slightly more for fresher stuff if I needed it.
I used to go for the reduced baked in store pies etc, usually down to 49p'ish for 4, but not any more.

Its going to cost them more to reduce the stuff at a lower rate as I bet they will throw out more stuff.0

I gave up on Morrisons after a couple of instances of (a) bad fish (b) defrosted and refrozen seafood (c) mixing full price stuff in with special offers on flowers
Maybe Morrisons is wanting to get rid of people bargain hunting ?0 -
i also never get any bargains from Morrisons and this is the only supermarket where I live, I do go to Tesco and Sainsburys now and again if I am on my way anwhere and pick up what I can as they have good reductions.
Waitrose also have good reductions but dont go there as often as only pop in there if i am in Newcastle shopping already0 -
Years ago when we were really really skint and OH was still on tools, he would tell me which supermarket cafe he was having team meeting in and I would make a list of offers to get. The rest of the team soon cottoned on to this idea and would arrive with shopping list from their partners0

I have noticed that reductions at 5pm when I usually visit Morrisons aren't as high as they used to be too. I was starting to feel disillusioned but got some better bargains today. Maybe Sunday is the day to go for YS stuff?
Today I managed to bag:
Sandwich steak reduced from £2.70 to 89p
4 pack of BBQ beef burgers reduced from £3.40 to 89p
4 pack of Youngs Chunky Cod reduced from £4.00 to 99p
Penne Bolognaise ready meal reduced from £2.10 to £1.19
Fridg Chocolate Milkshake reduced from £1.20 to 75p
I know the last two aren't that good but they're for the OH. Everything apart from the milkshake is now in the freezer and incorporated into a meal plan.2015 Wins

Thanks everyone, does seem to be general. Perhaps some Morrison's directive from a head office. Can anyone who works for M's confirm please?
Even today here the reductions at 3 pm were pathetic when they have ben 80% +. Don't get it, surely they'll end up chucking out more. Can't believe that MSE folk and other tightwads will buy at the current reductions.0 -
PS Supper tonight tuna steaks from the freezer, dated 18 Aug, £5.20 down to £0.99. Happy days!0
