boots optician wrong prescription

I was tested at boots optician 10 days ago and was surprised to see the prescription say +1.75 for both eyes.
i had made it clear that i only wanted the eye test to obtain the prescription and was happy to pay the £20 eye test fee.
i trusted the optician and bought 3 pairs of glasses online 2 from one firm and another from another.
i have now got the glasses and all pairs are below the strength i need to read a newspaper.
i am now left with 3 pairs of useless glasses.
The boots optician has got the prescription wrong and i suspect it is due to the fact she knew i was not buying of them.
do yourselves a favour and never use these people.

As long as you are 100% you ordered the same prescription that Boots has written for you (and not made any typos) then go back to Boots, with the glasses you bought online.
They *should* rectify the problem for you, by either replacing the lenses with the correct prescription or by covering your costs. It doesn't matter where you buy your glasses, it is their job to get your prescription correct.
Why did you think at the time +1.75 for both eyes was wrong? What was your previous strength?
I say they *should* rectify the problem but I know sometimes it can get a bit messy, you might need to prove that they have given you an incorrect prescription by getting a second opinion.

Can you return the glasses under the Distance Selling Regulations? Assuming they are not custom. If not write and complain to Boots store manager and head office.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I suspect most glasses bought online will have been custom made and therefore outwith the Distance Selling Regulations0
