Wescot Credit

Hi
I have received a postcard addressed to the occupier with a reference number and telephone number. I phoned them and 2f answered saying they will send something in the post. i have read a few other posts regarding Wescot and believe this may relate to a House of Fraser card i had many years ago. I was unable to contact GE Capital who had underwritten the credit and had been paying £5 per month for a number of years. I was actually unaware i was still paying this so i cancelled my dd. I have now received this postcard and think the two are inter-linked. When they write to me should i request a copy of my original agreement for the store card? Can they chase an unpaid debt without this?
Cheers

They will potentially not only chase a debt but take you to court without the original agreement. This is unfair and against the rules. It doesn't stop them though..
Nope - it is up to you to make them behave.
So, wait for the letter.
If it is indeed the card you think, then a CCA request, including the requirement for a full statement of account including all payments, debits and charges is correct.
If you do not recognise it then the prove it letter is the one to use.
Please make sure you include that you require all communication to be in writing only, whichever letter you send. DCAs must not be talked to (unless you can record your calls. Even then keeping it in writing makes it much easier to deal with them on your terms).BSC No 248

Thanks Lensman,
it was only 2 months ago that i cancelled the direct debit...i had unwittingly been paying £5 for a number of years as i remember at the time that you can pay £5 or 5%, whichever is greater to the outstanding balance on the store card. I actually advised GE Capital that i was moving from this old address but no further correspondence has been received since, although payments were always maintained. I believe that Wescot have recently signed up with Experian which may explain the recent postcard at my new address. Should i start to worry about the contact of the letter that they are to send me?0
