Littlewoods Catalogue Charges Advice Please

Hi All,
LITTLEWOODS CATALOGUE CHARGES
I am desperate for some advice and would be grateful to anyone who could assist.
The situation is this, I opened an account approximately 10 months ago to buy a few items on a buy now pay later. The amount was only small, something similar to £90. I then paid the monthly amount until I contacted them in November/December to tell them that I couldn't afford to pay and would pay the amount owed in January. The assistant stated that this was fine. I started to get the admin charges/late payment charges applied and I argued the toss with them and asked them to look into the matter (all telephone calls were never edited in my notes). I delayed paying until the matter was sorted and continued to receive charges on my account. I eventually got fed up with no response from them/denying all contact and paid the balance in Feb leaving only the charges remaining. I had a telephone conversation with a bloke in the collections dept who used threatening tactics on the telephone 'well if you don't pay them we will pass your details to a debt collection agency and leave yourself wide open to **cking up your credit report' etc.
In two months they applied charges of £60 which is all that remains on the account. I contacted them one last time to tell them I disputed the charges and asked them to put my account on hold until they look into the matter. They asked me to write in, which I did, confirming the above.
I am still getting new charges applied, and surprise bloody surprise they have never received my letter and until such time will continue to apply charges.
I am sick to my back teeth of this. They have applied 3 months of adverse information on my otherwise good credit report (showing 2 months 1 late payment and the current as now 2 months.
I am wanting to go for a re-mortgage soon and do not want this to effect anything. I really really do not want to pay these increasing charges.
Grateful for any advice.
Many thanks,
Raela

did you sign a credit agreement when you first started shopping with littlewoods ? if not write to them asking for a copy (it costs £1.00) ,they have 12 days to produce this. if they fail to produce this they cannot enforce any debt that you owe them.
hope this helps0 -
I think that given that you have effectively paid them what you owe them your best option would be to write them a letter - send it recorded delivery so you have proof that it was received - asking for all these charges to be refunded as they are unlawful.
Take the same approach as someone reclaiming their bank charges and see where you go from there.
Don't forget to also ask for them to correct your credit information.
I know it might be expensive but I would only deal with them by letter and send every letter recorded2014 Target;

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME IN TELLING ME WHAT TO DO AS WHEN I CONTACT THEY SAY CAUSE I DID NOT MAKE A PAYMENT THE CHARGES APPLY BUT WOULD ANYONE PAY FOR SOMETHING THEY NOT HAD ???
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATFULL THANK YOU IN ADVANCE XX0 -
you need to stop phoning and revert to dealing in writing via recorded delivery.
send a letter stating you never recieved the item so any monies due & subsequent charges are invalid0 -

I have been charged as well a few times, it seems to me that everyone wants to charge late payers now - it's so frustrating because every charge I get means less money to pay bills.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250
Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/150000 -
the trick is to spend within your means, try and avoid buy now pay later-they love people who cant pay and pay minimums as it racks up charges
secondly, re-mortgage? does that mean getting money against your current house-like a 2nd mortgage?! i hope you arent in that much debt,0 -
Maybe it's the other way 'round - everyone is paying late now.wornoutmumoftwo wrote: »I have been charged as well a few times, it seems to me that everyone wants to charge late payers now.
