in Cutting tax
My 20 year old daughter started a part time retail job in June. She is contracted to work 16 hours a week for £6.70 an hour. She is also doing a local college course, and fitting work around her course. Anyway for the past 3 months she has been put on emergency tax, and this month was the first month she didn't get taxed (new tax code) - woo! How does she go about getting her overpaid tax back?

This sounds like she was on BR or 0T tax and has just been put on emergency (810L WK1) so no longer being taxed. Did she fill in a P46 recently?0 -
Yes, she did.
Did she select A or B on the P46?You need to tick only one of the following statements A, B or C.
A - This is my first job since last 6 April and I have not been receiving taxable
Jobseeker's Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, taxable Incapacity
Benefit, State Pension or Occupational Pension.
B - This is now my only job but since last 6 April I have had another job, or received
taxable Jobseeker's Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or taxable
Incapacity Benefit. I do not receive a State Pension or Occupational Pension.
