Fashion Advice Please - Maternity dresses and leggings. Shoes?

Hi
I am pregnant and have bought some nice maternity dresses and tunics in the recent sales. They are all the sort of items you would wear with leggings. I thought these would keep me going for the next few months at work - I am a teacher.

1. Can anyone suggest some supportive leggings that are not too see through and are flattering for someone with not that great legs?!
2. I have no idea what shoes I should wear with my new outfits. I need flat shoes (being pregnant and on my feet all day) but what goes well with tunics/dresses and someone who is 5 foot tall?

Many thanks for all your advice!

  • I had maternity leggings from Red Herring @ Debenhams - came right up over the bump, which was so comfy, and they weren't see through at all. I just wore them with a pair of boots - mine were mid calf length biker style boots, but if that isn't smart enough for work, what about a pair of riding-style knee high boots?

  • Primark leggings are great and really supportive, bargain at about £4. I'm not pregnant but I imagine if you bought the next size up they have enough stretch in them for over your bump.

In terms of shoes, I'd go with flats.

Ballet flats or long boots - marks and sparks leggings are lovely and soft stretchy cotton - I'd got for those in the next size up - I hated mat trousers with a passion!

I hate maternity trousers too. They seem to fall down all the time!

H and M mama leggings are far better than their non maternity ones - lovely and thick and well made and cheap as chips. (:o I still occasionally wear mine now and my "baby" was 3 last week and I am a size 10).

I used to either wear pop socks and ballet flats with mine when i was pregnant, or long boots and both looked good I thought.
