determined to sort my life out!

Hi All!:j

Decided that the only way I can keep myself on track is to document my journey...... I am easily distracted and need some way to stay focussed!

A bit about me....I am in my mid thirties and have been living alone for the first time since February...eekkk...never thought I could live alone, but it's actually not that scary (as long as I don't watch Crimewatch! :D)

I was divorced about 7 years ago (thankfully) and almost immediately went into another relationship (eejit!). Unfortunately that relationship ended at the beginning of this year and I have had to start all over again. Both times the relationships have ended, I have been the one to move out and ended up with virtually nothing apart from debt.

I moved into my little flat in Feb and went a bit overboard buying furniture and essentials...that my credit cards took a bit of a battering! I already had student debt of around £12k when I moved in and now everything had kind of spiralled out of control. Total debts of around £16k.

But I am ceasing the spiralling and taking control back for good!

  • well the last few days have been a bit up and down.....

Went out with work last night for dinner and managed to only spend £20 so within budget and also got the bus home! I have never done that before...I would usually get a taxi costing about £8, but bus was only £1.70. It also meant I was careful not to drink too much, so I would be safe getting home.

Got up at 9am this morning (this is unheard of for me!) and went to the bank and withdraw my cash I have budgeted for my envelopes. Also bought my friend a birthday present in Pia...got a gorgeous necklace for £2.50 and they put it in a lovely gift box! result! So well under budget on that!

Then headed to Aldi intending to only spend £16 which I had budgeted for this weeks food....but ended up spending £27  I'm mad with myself...coz I took a list and everything and thought I had stuck well within my budget, but ended up buying some extras for our Sat night in! Doh!

Plan for the rest of the day is to do some cleaning and sort cash out in envelopes......freezing at moment though as boiler has packed up again :( Oh well another jumper on then!
