We don't buy [STRIKE]own [/STRIKE]brands, I think they are a waste of money. I buy supermarket own or value if they are any good. Because we already have a few bits in the freezer I'm going to Tesco tonight with a budget of £25 - I'll report later and let you know how I got on.
And well done on your £28-shop - saving 30% on your normal spend.0 -
When people post about monthly food budgets do these include lunches either at work or packed lunch...or is it just breakfast and dinner?
Mine includes everything food, cleaning stuff, smellies, takeaway, and lunchs out with my ds, but not dates with my hubby thats comes for entertainment but doesn't happen very often.DEC GC £463.67/£450
EF- £110/COLOR]/£10000 -
Blimey I'm impressed at how low you all can get your shopping bill. I am going to try next week to see how close I can get. I'm way out at the moment!0

There are two people in my household and we have a food budget of £80 every first month and £40 every second month.
Half of the first months goes on a online shopping session where we buy all the bulky things that we don't want to carry for the next two months
then we have a budget of £10. a week to top up.
We never buy ready meals and we like yo have like to have a varied diet, We are vegetarian which brings the price down a fair bit! try using mysupermarket.co.uk before hand. will give you a fair idea about whats cheapest in your area.0 -

I'm trying to stick to £150 a month for two of us but my OH eats for about 4 people and doesn't get the concept of budgeting so it's hard! If you're both working together with your budget it's very doable.0
