Why does my bathroom sink always 'gurgle'?

Hope someone can help.
My bathroom sink seems to contantly 'gurgle ' every few seconds and its becoming really annoying!

Doesn't appear to be a blockage anywhere as the water runs down perfectly ok.

Any ideas why its doing this and where can I start looking to cure it?

You make a very interesting point actually.
Outside it joins to the bath/shower waste pipe that ends up running into the stack.

My wife has just confirmed that the 'gurgle' I mention seems to happens for about 1/2 hr after all the water has run out of either the bath or sink if that helps

You are getting syphonage. Fit an antivac trap to it.



this is an antivac bottle trap. Yours could be a P trap but you need an antivac version.
