checking credit rating during mortgage application

I'm in the middle of a mortgage application ( valuation been done). Would it affect me negatively if I did a quick experia credit check meanwhile?

    You can obtain your own credit file and it leaves no visible footprint for anyone else to see.

    Only searches for new credit remain on your file, visible to other searchers, for upto 12 months.
