Reduced with immediate effect :) Shame Nintendo aren't reducing the Wii with immediate effect. But then it's already less than half the price and people want to buy them!
I assume Blockbuster have thousands of these sitting in their stockrooms - cost a fortune out of their cashflow and nothing is coming in to reduce that debt. I'd wait a bit longer, as many suppliers will be forced to further discount to shift these.

They put the price too high imo for people to pay them. You can buy a full good quality PC for less than than the price of a PS3. Gees, you can buy a xbox360, with games for less!

That said - the ps3 really is a good console!

Noticed yesterday that Gamestation (Notts) was selling a PS3 plus Xmen3 game for £399.99 when you trade in ANY (and they highlighted the ANY) game.

So take the cost of the Xmen3 game away (£40) which you'll no doubt trade-in/ebay, and you've got a PS3 for about £360

As other poster noted, wait a little longer for another price drop (although I accept this is not an official price drop) - but shops with stock can't turn it into cash until they sell them.

Besides, they want to stop demo'ing it with the F1 game because whilst it looks great and moves fast, it ain't nothing special or different from PGR3 on the 360 - and let's face it, it's the games that sell a console.

Convergence is all well and good, when the consumer wants to converge - but we're not already for a onebox solution under our TV's yet.

I got a PS3 on launch and I think there is a lot of hysteria about what it can and can't achieve. I've hooked it up to a HD TV and the graphics are far superior than anything I've seen, including high end PCs. I'm a big gamer, I've played all my life and the PS3 takes some monumental steps, throw in the blu-ray player (which I have tested and liked) some of the little features such as PSN and remote play and you have got something that is worth more than it's hefty price tag.
The Wii and 360 are great, don't get me wrong I own a Wii and previously owned a 360 and enjoy(ed) both but the PS3 just has so much more potential, it's going to have a stronger game line up in a few months and it will only get better, as far as I'm concerned you can't argue with some of the future exclusives Sony has lined up, FFXIII, MGS RE and GT are all big hitters.
Also for everyones info my PS3 has been on for 8 hours and not overheated yet, not even come close, which is more than I can say for my old 360.
