Dead money or worth pursuing?

I signed up for a plumbing course in July 2008 (I know, a LONG time ago) I got a few books sent to me and was told to study hard and submit scores etc etc. Anyway, I'd sent off a few scores when I found out that the company, The Skills Centre in Cardiff, had gone into liquidation in 2009 after one of the directors, Aled Edwards, swindled £100,000 out of the company. I was then left with no course and a loan that I still had to repay to Barclays.

In 2010, I took out a further mortgage and repaid the loan. However, I have recently found out that Barclays stepped in in late 2009 to ensure every single one of The Skills Centre students could finish their course....

I was not contacted!

Where do I stand now? Should I write to Barclays and ask for some of the money back? Or is it too late and I'm best forgetting about it and putting it down to experience?
