Bank account help

Hiya, first time poster, so a bit nervous. I'm posting on behalf of my partner. When his previous relationship ended, he walked away with an awful lot of debt, he is managing to put things right over time and has recently been awarded a cash settlement from his house. However, he would like to open an ISA and a current account but can't seem to be able to get a bank account with anyone. (His salary is currently paid into an old savings account that he's had for years) because he can't get a current account, he can't set up any DD's etc, therefore he can't begin to build his credit history back up. Does anyone know of a way or an account that we could try??
Thank you

Hiya, I don't know much but if he has a bad credit history then most banks do a basic bank account you can use for salary/dd's etc. Try Martin's Bank Account articleOfficial DFW Nerd No 2750
