Universal credit report?

Can anyone tell me if I am able to find out, by using credit reports, names of any financial institutes I have been associated with.....
I.E not just for loans/cc/mobile phones BUT any savings accounts I may have which could now be dormant.
Did have a spate of closing and rearranging accounts a few years ago, so have now shredded quite a lot of old paperwork (stupidly). Have also obtained credit reports in the past.
However, just checking if information contained within these reports has changed in recent years?

I am in a position to virtually be debt free and want to put the left over away safely. But first would like to know where I may have any existing accounts.
