Comfortable shoes

Hi everyone,

I'm really struggling to find decent, comfortable wedding footwear. I'm disabled so this causes a few issues with the normal options. My feet are a bit of an odd shape, so anything too stiff would rub like hell. For same reason, I'm not that keen on sandals as I hate showing my feet. I can't have a heel in a shoe above 2 inches, or 3 inches in a boot. Slip-ons slip off my feet, as do ballet pumps and flip flops.

Anyone any recommendations for a low-heel shoe or boot that is soft and comfortable, not a sandal or ballet pump? Oh, and ivory or blue please!

I know it's a tough ask, but I really don't want to go down the aisle in trainers or lace-up casual pumps!

I'm guessing you need something in maybe an orthopedic range or not?
Difficult to point you in the direction of the right websites until we know perhaps what styles you have at the moment....is somthing like the shoe tailor appropriate or do you need a more bespoke design than that...

Just wondering if you have considered something like clogs...there are several american websites online that do the traditional ones and also some with a slight heel or even an enclosed back...

is something like this the style...or have I gone way off the mark?

they were AMAZINGLY comfy! I had absolutely no issues with rubbing/stiffness (and I have weird feet too) but I'm pretty sure that a few evenings rubbing leather conditioner into them would supple them up like anything if they're not soft enough for you.

I put in some gel Angel-Feet insoles, and a cushiony insole over the top because I'm not used to heels either, and walked/danced/bounced away for 8 hours in them before finally switching to my rescue flats (which ended up being even more uncomfortable than the heels!)

I know this links says they're out of stock put just search "teal Hush Puppies" on ebay (or google) and you're bound to find them. Mine were brand new at £19.99 + free shipping from ebay

EDIT: I just found out the style is called "Freya" and is available in lots of other colours, including off-white/ivory!

I have a wee pair of kitten heels, which are soft.

They are not sandals really as are closed toe, and have a strap around the ankle.

When my daughter did ballet we used to sew a piece of matching elastic edge to edge over the top/middle of the foot to stop the shoe slipping off. This tip has proved invaluable for me as after an op I am unable to wear a heel and I have put elastic on many flat shoes now, decorated with a matching flower or something fancy can give a classy original look. Have dyed the shoes to match an outfit too.
