I had issues with a Thomson ADSL modem stopping my powerline adaptors working... turned out that the powersupply for the Thomson modem was sending out intereference that stopped the powerline networking for working..... another powersupply sorted the problem. This was a brand new powersupply but clearly something inside it was causing localised interference.

Mmm, I think the router has broken. I have had an awful connection this evening and changed the router to a NETGEAR and everything is perfect.

I just need to know how to secure it now.

When I first read this thread I thought interference. I have an 18 month old Linksys WAG160N that was fine until recently. It now causes terrible interference to my amateur radio equipment. If you look around the net there are numerous posts about this brand causing problems. Usually the capacitors fail , I'm going to try another (better) psu but have also read that the ones inside the router can also cause problems. How old is the router?

Date on the back of the router says 12/2006

I have been using it for abot 4 yrs now.

The broadband connection has been awful over the past few months..... since changing the router to the NETGEAR last night we seem to have doubled our download speed.

I might try a factory reset on the LINKSYS but, then again, I may just stay with the NETGEAR as the homeplugs work with it and everything else seems much quicker.
