BT bringing my calls back to them without my consent

Options
Hi

My phone line is with BT but my calls go through Primus. Last weekend I phoned BT to renew by broadband with BT for 12 months. During the call I was asked if I wanted to bring my calls back to BT. I said NO more than once. On Monday I get an email from Primus saying sorry I was leaving  I submitted a complaint to BT. Today I got their reply and they admited their error, but they say there is nothing they can do about it and I need to contact Primus if I want to go back to them! Is it really true that BT cannot correct their own error or are they just unwilling to?

Since it's Primus you are contracted to for line rental, it's them you need to contact. Tell them that BT have slammed you and that you do not wish to leave them. Do this straight away before the cooling off period expires.
A complaint to BT should be a separate process.

Quick update in case anyone has the same problem...

Primus wouldn't take back just my calls (I was on the Penny Mobile plan). Primus said they now only take your calls if you have your line rental with them. I couldn't move my line rental to them because I has just signed up to 12 months broadband with BT (how this whole thing started...). Primus wouldn't budge.

I have wasted hours ringing and emailing BT trying to get them to sort it out. The service was appalling but I finally spoke to a complaints manager last night who actually seemed to take my problem seriously. They agreed to credit my account with £50. Overall I'm not sure if that's a good deal because forever more calls to mobiles are now going to cost me a fortune (rather than 20p for 20 minutes), but I was losing the will to live so accepted.
