Need 15k loan fast, very short term

Need a 15 k loan for maybe a month, want it tomorrow or Thursday latest. We are mortgage free, own home, good savings, no debts, 8k credit limit on credit card. Surplus income per month is around £1800.
Any ideas please?

Possibly an unsecured loan from your own bank (not for a month though, they'd structure it as a more typical loan over say 5 years). You could then pay off in full next month.

Is it because savings are tied into notice accounts? if so worth double checking with the saving bank to see if you can get the savings quicker for a fee / loss of interest.

Or for part of the money see if card provider allows money transfers to your bank and how quick they could action it (probably not as cheap as a loan once your paid fees).

  • My own bank said No as we have switched accounts to them less than 3 months ago, need loan plus all our savings.

You could consider looking at nationwide quotation to see if it looks like they would accept you for that level of loan (the good thing about nationwide is that don't do a full search on your credit file unlike all other high street banks).

  • what is it for? any chance it could be secured?
    Thinking critically since 1996....
  • Secure it on our house no problem, it will be a bridging loan.
  • aha, that makes things different then I think since bridging finance is quite a specialist area.

I am sure some more experts will be along to help here shortly.

Problem with securing it is the speed the loan is required. It simply won't be processed in time.

Actually if you did have a mortgage on your home there might have been a slight chance you could have got a loan quickly from the mortgage company, as they already have the charge secured on your property.

  • Nationwide possibly would be the best bet, as you can have the money paid into you account the same day once you clear the approval and as Tixy said they do a soft quote first to test your acceptance.

You may also pay off the loan the next month with only 1 months interest added on to the balance.

funnily enough with nationwide if you choose £14,999 over £15000, you are more likely to get a lower rate, (see the sliders on their website), or you could pop into your local branch tomorrow , as they will most likely get you seen for a personal loan, best thing to do is ring up the call centre and see what would be needed for the application etc eg (3 months bank statements, 3 months payslips etc.)

Problem with securing loans to your property as said above is even if they are 'turbo'd' they still can take up to 5 days for you to receive the funds..

ratesetter.com any good? You can get a rolling credit line (much like a credit card) where you only pay for the months you use it
