getting off a mortgage - help!

I divorced my husband two years ago,i let him keep the family home and moved away with the children,i am still on the mortgage,he has forged my signature to change it,the mortgage company wont take me off and dont seem bothered about forgery! i know nothing about the mortgage and it all came out of his bank.could anyone advise me on what i could do so i can be free and live my life with the kids.i am not responsible for any debt he adds to the mortgage and he was told he had to get me taken off the mortgage as part of the divorce.he has done nothing.

Hi, I was in a similar situation when I got divorced in 1996. I stayed in the marital home with my children and it took me 10 years to get my husbands name off the mortgage. The reason being that Halifax would not release him from the mortgage as I did not have enough income myself due to working part time even though I was paying it. Basically the lender can still chase you if your ex fails to pay. Definately time to seek legal advice & they should also be able to advise what to do about the forgery.
