Equifax/Experian?

Hello,
Wondering if anyone can shed any light on the following:
Thought id check my credit report, signed up to both experian and equifax..logged on to equifax first to find that my credit score is 'poor' due to a few defaults etc which is understandable, however, my experian report has my score down as excellent :j....i applied for a mobile phone contract and got rejected, im thinking that they searched the equifax credit report and not the experian one (as that report is showing as 0 searches made) Cant check on the equifax one, website is down....confused as to how 2 credit reports can differ so much?

Aside from experian's rating /score - does you experian report not show any defaults? does it show any past credit history at all?

They do generally differ a bit - depending on which credit agencies your particular creditors report to.

However if there is a lot of information and in particular defaults missing from just one agency, it could possibly be that that agency doesn't list all your addresses (assuming the defaults were from a previous address). If thats the case then the addresses may be linked up in future and the defaults might then appear.
A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give

  • Hello Tixy,

Thanks for that, yes thats what it is. All of the defaults aren't listed. Hopefully experian wont catch on and leave it as it is. Either way, the defaults that arent listed are the ones that are due to drop off next yr (all satisfied/ Paid off)
fingers crossed, now back to writing begging letters to take the 2, 3 yr old defaults off....Can only hope
  • I for the life of can not understand why martin endorces these unlicensed unregulated morons.

They were set up by one commissioners report back in the 1970s,no one oversees their activities virtually self-regulated.

THE x-files of the financial underworld......

You complain to the information commissioners office, they then say c/agencies come under the oft,who then then say no it's the FSA,who then say NO not us as they have no consumer credit license.

To get FALSE info removed you HAVE to be a paid up member of some 6.95 per month, plus then check your credit score.

This FREE HOOK IN for 30 days opens up a massive can of worms,i say to ANYONE DO NOT DO IT.

It has literally messed my life up financially.

THEY REFUSE to remove the false info, even though the companies who put it there say SORRY NOT US,must be the credit agency getting it wrong.....

Unlicensed unregulated,YOU ME ANYONE can set up an agency tomorrow without any qualifications.

    VERY VERY WORRYING........
