We are in the process of signing up with Payplan, and have been told to open new bank accounts.
I was thinking of the Co-op basci current account, which we are going to do this afternoon.
Is the Co-op Bank tied in with any other banks: HSBC, Bank Of Scotland etc?

No its independent, co-op is good as I think you get a debit card which is not usual with basic accounts and they are also an "ethical" bank. I'm doing the same thing. Good luck.0
