Family of four, how does our grocery shop compare?

Family of 4, kids aged 6 and 3, normal spend is approx 300 per month, last month was just short of £400 but that included £226 spent in 10 days camping so we obviously splurged then!!! (Mainly on wine i think). I only do 6 main meals as we eat at my dad's once and he eats at ours once, lunches for 4 everyday (packed * 16, home * 12), breakfast for all everyday. Youngest is lactose intollerant and his milk/yoghurts cost a fortune so hoping he grows out of it...
£140 doesn't sound too horrific, i think if i shopped at Sainsburys i'd spend that. I shop mainly at Aldi, and top up at Tesco for the lactofree/alpro type products. We eat meat/fish at least 5 times per week, fresh fruit and veg always in fridge/fruit bowl. I meal plan a month at a time and some comes from freezer, equally i add to freezer when i see bargains.0 -
Family of 4 here and managing on £50 a week, but we certainly used to spend much more. Having only one bottle of wine a week helps, cooking from scratch and using Aldi and Tesco Value foods.0

I do it by shopping around, bulk buying offers, buying reduced and ys, using approved food, amazon subscribe and save and not buying 'luxurys/ unneccessary items - crisps, biscuits, sweets, cakes, over packaged individual anything, Meal planning and cooking from scratch
There you go then. Can't do without my goodies, cakes and chocs. Try to cook as many as i can myself, but the shops do them better than me. And the blasted cats only like the best.
Can i say in my defence that having had 5 kids i really had to be careful and never could even afford things like a jar of jam or butter. And crisps and shop bought cakes were never seen in my house. I'm better off now (yes even though i am a pensioner ) and can afford a few luxuries.0 -
We're a family of four (2 adults, 3 year old & 1 year old) spending around £95 a week. That includes loo roll, a few toiletries and the odd bit of cleaning stuff...doesn't include nappies or baby milk.0

We are a family of 4 - kids aged 16 and 13, one of each
I spend around £100 - £110 per week. I generally shop at Aldi and a little Mr M for 3 weeks and Tosco or Mr S one week in every month. I buy meat from the butcher and have eco friendly cleaning products.
I mostly cook from scratch and provide evening meals and packed lunches (nearly) every day. And breakfast of course!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids (16, 14 & 10). We would spend on average about £80 on the weekly shopping and £20-25 on bits and bobs during the week. So around £400 per month.0

Family of 5 here, 2 Adults & 3 Kids (4, 7 & 10 year old who never stops eating).
Over the last few months I have noticed my grocery spending spiraling out of control! I am trying to regain control and have started doing most of my shopping in Lidl and so far it has made a huge difference and the quality has been more than fine.
