why you should read your meters

Hi

I thought i'd share with you all the huge saving I've made on my electricity bill this morning.

My bill came this morning, we only have electricity in the flat for heating so its higher than most. The bill was estimated and came to £458 ex vat, I read the meters and it was significantly different, um handy for the elec co as its the winter bill! so following my call to the co the bill was reduced to £316. I have been paying £79 per month they had wanted to put it up to £84 but as a result of reading my meter its been reduced to £72. Don't rely on the estimate when ever you get an estimate call them with a reading even in the summer at these figures its worth the effort.

I'm off to check if Martin thinks its a good time to switch and then to Uswitch to see if I can save anymore!

also checked the switching traffic light but it's still red... I know scottish power are still to announce whether they're dropping their prices or not! typical!

  • I try to put mine in at least one a month. We have 2 meters and at least you can keep up to date. I. A I am with Scottish Power and have not had any problems. We have gone paper free with them as well to save the trees and a few pence a year.

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
