The option 3 retire from work and not take pension I don't think would be classed as a good leaver & therefore the £3500 loss on share plan would apply as this would I think simply be deemed as resigning.
Well, it's probably worthwhile finding out the definitive answer, rather than simply speculating about it, isn't it?
Have a look at the retirement policy of the employer, and look at the procedure for retiring.
