Energizer Compact Charger £3.99 IN Sainsburys

Purchased this yesterday in Sainsburys:

For £3.99, it also came with an extra 2 batteries.

They had quite a few in my local Sainsburys (Cardiff)

Be careful using this one, it is just a timed charger, which can ruin your batteries if you don't use it correctly.

I have had one of these for at least 15 months, never had any problems with it. Can you tell us more please.

Timer-only chargers do not stop charging (and switch to trickle-charge) when the battery is full but continue at full charge till the factory preset time. NiMH batteries don't suffer from memory effects but still suffer from over-charging.

Chelle , so did your charger have 6 AA Nihms with it ?

P.S. If the trickle charge is less than a tenth of the battery capacity then even Nicads can safely be left on charge indefinately, though you are wasting electricity.
NiHms are much more robust than Nicads.
