Black Horse loan for consumer goods not delivered, what to do?

Options
Hi guys,

I have a bit of a problem with a credit agreement and noticed there was some good advice given on similar lines here, so thought I'd see if anyone could help shed some light on where I stand - any is *gratefully* received.

Its a bit of a messy one so I will keep it as simple as poss, sorry if any it is irrelevant:

In June of 06 I took a 0% for 12 months agreement from Black Horse to finance goods to the value of £1500 (about 5 items of professional audio gear), bought from a high street chain that sells such things. After this I think its 36 months at 29%, applied retrospectively.

I worked for them at the time, so the goods were bought at 'trade plus VAT' - I dont know if this makes a difference legally, but the transaction was carried out no different on any paperwork to a customer transaction.

I did this because I knew I was leaving the company imminently (as did they) and wanted to take advantage of the deal. None of the goods were taken at the time, they were put on order at the time by my colleagues. I suspected that one key item would be discontinued soonish so I stressed to my colleague that he not delay, as I would have loaned a large amount of credit for something for which there is no equivalent on the market.

After about 10 weeks of waiting it transpired that, hey presto, he'd forgotten to order that one item, leaving about £700 'in account' with the shop (meaning that the money is showing as a plus on the EPOS system, without having been booked out).

I spent £300 of the money and was told by the manager in October of last year that the money would remain there as long as I needed but that it could not be spent at trade prices. This second part was not as I understood him at any previous time, but I had no problem with that, other than his change of position concerning me a little.

Having phoned the place yesterday to try and spend the remainder, 9 months after signing the agreement, the manager appears not to remember the conversation, and has curtly told me 'there is no money in the account'. I was told to call the head office if I have a problem with that, but Im no longer a member of staff and dont have that number, and I could tell by the tone of the conversation that I wasnt being offered it - the phone was going down before I'd finished.

So, basically, 300 quid of my money has disappeared, which I have to repay soon - I want to take action, but Im not sure where to start, can anybody help?

Many thanks,

Ollie
