Cash change on gift vouchers

Does anyone know which stores are good for getting cash change on gift vouchers? The point is, if one can get the vouchers for a discount, it's possible to make a profit. I read an old post about someone getting £9+ in change from Waitrose. I wonder if it still holds: a shop where you don’t have to ‘waste’ the money that goes on the small purchase is great! Most stores have vouchers down to £1 which they give in change, only pence in cash. Boots now have a ‘Gift Card’ so even the pence become a credit.

in spite of the T&C on high street vouchers saying no change will be given my local wilkos give change more often than not
I'd be impressed if you managed to make a worthwhile profit doing it this way... and also if you ended up doing it every single day you'd soon have somebody checking your vouchers for forgeries!
I do recommend if you can buy discounted vouchers to buy lots of supermarket ones and save ££ each month on your normal shop. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
